Hey Hull, I'm really sorry to hear you are suffering from the same problems we are. This problem is terrible!

Anyways I was wondering if you have tried any of those super strong antiperspirants for excessive sweating? They're - Certain Dri, Drisol, and BDri. Have you tried any of those, you wear them at night and in the morning you just apply regular deodorant. If you haven't tried it, take a look, they have worked great for lots of people. You can find them at just about any drugstore or grocerry store, atleast in the US. Here's a link to one of the products. Good luck and I'm praying for all you guys.

hey guys...ive actually found a pretty good method for right now at least... i switched from a solid deodorant to a gel, ive been using unscented mitchum...and its a gel. after getting out of the shower i have been using antimicrobial rubbing alcohol and putting it on my arm pits, lettin it dry for a min or two then putting on my deodorant. its definately cut down on the smell! although sadly, it only works for about 8-10 hours if im doing nothing, and about 5 hours if im working... so ive been carrying around rubbing alcohol and deodorant. hah my boyfriend makes fun of me allll the time... oh well no complaints... better than stinkin all the time!

» orly - crystal rock

Hi all. Same as everyone posting here, I've had underarm odor. For over 10yrs now. It has gotten worse over the years. I've started smelling like onions or curry. I've tried out a lot of self-made remedies. I used to use the crystal 'rock' as you guys call it, my mother gave it to me in my teenage years saying it's all natural. It was in powder form. Bad thing about it is, when it dries up under your arms it just 'crumbles' off from your pits. I also tried the pieces of rock crystal but that didn't really work for me. I gave up on the crystal remedy years ago.
I've tried different deodorants -Mitchum was the best but I guess my armpits got immune to it. I now use Dove. I still have armpit odor. For the past 2-3yrs I've been putting a carefully folded tissue between my armpits and my shirts. This is to help absorb the sweat and to prevent the quick transfer of odor from armpit to my shirt's underarm. It's helped me, but being in Asia and with extreme humid weather, I soak those pieces of tissue pretty fast. I sometimes change the tissues and re-apply my deodorant.
I've tried the alcohol swab treatment, over the counter skin medicine, tried baking soda (which burns!), tried the pimple cream remedy (w/c helped me for a day or two but the smell came back with a vengeance!) and the mouth wash. None of which helped me.
It's made me very paranoid and some times so depressed over the years when incidents where classmates or a situation where I'm not able to control the smell and other people in work are able to get a whiff of my odor that affects me.
I was in a local grocery store a couple of weeks back and saw the crystal rock again. This time it was packaged in a plastic bottle and called 'Deo-Nat' and made in Thailand. I decided to try it out again (btw, I also bought the powdered form which I put in a basin with a piece of clothing I want to soak to get rid of the smell -it works). The first few days, it didn't really work. After a week, I've noticed that I smell less. I've actually attempted going out the whole day just applying the crystal rock stick! I still sweat a lot but so far no overpowering smell! I make sure I wear loose clothing, nothing touching my armpits and a fan to keep my body cool.
If I know I'm going out somewhere important like a party or something, I apply Dove once in a while. Dove lasts me for a couple of hours before the scent reacts to my body odor. I've tried the unscented ones but it still smells after a few hours.
The stick works for me in the meantime, I only hope it works longer. Plus I know the importance of not hindering our sweat glands which makes me happy to use the crystal rock. Will update if I get changes.
Btw, I read elsewhere about a mother and daughter drinking chlorophyll pills along with a charcoal tablet a day. I might try the chlorophyll tablets.

In response to im so glad i found a post about nasty b. posted by runlikehell:

hi run and everyone,
long time having posted on here. I know someone asked me to update them about my "Dr. Natura" use. I started to use it, however, the amount of required fluid intake and the routine/regimen,was just ridiculous but I adhered to it. I felt more bloated in my abdominal region, but i did have some bowel movements, but it didn't seem to tackle the armpit odor prob. The other thing I tried was have my 'pits professionally waxed, and started using mitchum. Oh yeah, i finally raduated and don't have to worry bout unwelcomed gestures/glances in my direction, at least for now. I rarely leave the house, which is pathetic. I make sure, though, that the quantity of mitchum i apply is very minimal (a fingertip sized amount), cause i noticed a worsening of the odor if i really try to smear my pits with the mitchum/deoderant.
Oh yeah! i did visit some doctors affiliated with my prior insurance carriers, the didn't seem to know squat!!! or maybe they didn't want to be bothered by my complaints, so they just slapped recommened regimens of having a low fat/ cholesterol/ salt diet and increase exercise. I eventually cancelled the insurance cos it was costing me dollars for nothing.
I noticed an abrupt but short lived, odor free week, after taking a progestin pill my family friend (doctor) prescribed for me, since i was experiencing an extremely irregular episode of menstrual cycle.

» nevab4 - Continuation

Lately, I rarely have a regular bowel movement, and I wonder how everyone else's bowel movement pattern is? I would like to speculate that a lack of regular bowel movement pattern, may be one of the reasons for body odor emmited from the body and/or pits and groin area. Has anyone noticed a decline in their immune status, i.e. having frequent infections (cold, vaginal), and deterioration in health, regardless of what the health problem/manifestation is?. I'm not refering to ppl with known/ active diseases like HIV, diabetes(these increase one's chances of decreased immunity) and so on, but ppl who r presumably healthy, as far as they know.
Thanks 4 ur response.

sorry guys for my continual rantings. I read it somewhere that having unpleasant body smells/odors could be an indication for an uncovered medical condition, that one is harboring.
When my lab tests were drawn, other results were normal except my testosterone lever was about 3-4 times the normal values, kinda weird, huh? considering that I'm a female, and if memory serves me, I thought (read it somewhere) testosterone is the hormone that gives guys their distinctive smell.
Just a thought for you guys.
thanks

» hadenuff3 - Still Looking

Well here it is another year and I guess we are still searching.I know it is a ever ending process. I have gone and had lots of blood work done also with no major results. So here it is again I'm looking for the cure. I have totally gotten rid of deodorant & anti-bacterial soap. I have found that with all of the anti things they were too much. I now use neutragena's Rain Bath for my body cleanser. Then deodorant- funny thing I went back to a spray deodorant Arrid, something I haven't used for a long time(years) and it is really doing a good job much better than all the gels, and regular deodorants. So for now this is my remidy.
